Merchant Request Status | Scenario | What’s going on? | User Message |
Attempted but failed | The customer is being blocked by the bank or financial institution | The bank has blocked the customer from logging in. If the customer attempts to login consecutively, this will further reduce their chance from logging into their account. | The financial institution you are trying to connect to has blocked access. Please try again in 1 hour. |
Authentication failed | The customer enters wrong credentials | The customer entered login credentials an should check before attempting again. If the customer tries multiple times in a short period of time, this would increase the chances of them being blocked. | Please enter a valid username and/or password. |
Bank is unavailable | The bank is under maintenance | The customer should verify the bank is working before they try again. | The financial institution you are trying to connect to may be undergoing maintenance. Please verify before trying again. |
MFA timed out | The customer does not enter the challenge response in time | They customer did not answer the challenge response in time. When they start again, they should enter challenge response promptly. | Your session has expired after failing to complete within 60 seconds. Please log in again and complete 2-Step Verification. |
Failed MFA | The customer enters a wrong challenge response | The customer should ensure they enter the correct challenge response | Your 2-Step Verification was not successful. Please log in again and enter a valid response. |
Requires a new link | The customer has tried too many times and Inverite blocks future access | The customer has submitted too many IBV requests in a short period. They should request the merchant give them a new IBV request link. | Access has been blocked due to a series of unsuccessful attempts. Please request a new link from the company who requested your banking information. |
Confirm profile | Confirm your profile | The customer should log into their bank’s website or app to confirm their profile information. | The financial institution you are trying to sign into requires you to confirm your profile. Please complete this step on their website before signing in again. |
Update password | Time to update your password | The customer’s temporary password has expired. They need to update their password before using Inverite. | Your temporary password for this financial institution has expired. Please log onto their website and update your password before signing in again. |
Setup MFA | Setup a 2-step verification method | The customer needs to login to their bank’s website to setup MFA before using Inverite. | Your financial institution requires multi-factor authentication to be setup to be able to proceed. Please log onto their app or website and complete this step before signing in again. |
Account locked | The account is suspended or password locked | Too many attempts on incorrect password or bank suspects the account is compromised. | Your account is locked for security reasons. Please contact your financial institution for assistance before signing in again. |
Setup Account | Account setup incomplete or there no account | The customer does have an online banking but does not have an active account (i.e. chequing, savings, etc.), or has an account but is in the application process and hasn’t been fully setup. | It seems you haven't finished setting up an account with your financial institution. Please log onto their website and complete this step before signing in again. |
No Notification | The customer’s device or bank app did not prompt the challenge response | The customer may not have received or responded to a required MFA notification from their bank | Your 2-step verification was not successful.Please log in and try again. |
No Device | The customer doesn’t currently have access to their registered device for 2-step verification | The customer’s bank requires a device for 2-step verification, but they don’t access to the device at the time of verification. They can retry once they have access to it. | Your 2-step verification was not successful. Please log in again and have your device ready. |
